$PUFFER Season 2 is Extended!

Puffer community, Season 2 is officially extended until August 15! 🐡

In a period of heightened volatility and ecosystem uncertainty, we’re giving the community more time and space to engage meaningfully and make long-term-aligned decisions. This decision is a strategic response to current market conditions, recent protocol progress, and the evolving rollout of our products.

With major milestones unfolding — from new vault launches and expanded integrations for pufETH holders, to the UniFi Based Rollup nearing public testnet and our UniFi AVS preparing for launch — this added runway enables deeper participation and alignment across the ecosystem.

Why Extend Season 2?

Since Season 2 began, we’ve launched vaults for pufETH, BTC, and stablecoins, all seeing promising early traction. For pufETH holders, we’ve introduced new DeFi integrations and expanded support across multiple chains.

And this momentum is only accelerating. Behind the scenes, we’re nearing the public testnet launch of the UniFi Based Rollup and completing final preparations for our AVS.

At the same time, crypto markets remain unstable, with reduced liquidity and increased volatility. Encouraging users to rush claims under these conditions could have negative effects, not only on the protocol’s token dynamics but also on users’ outcomes.

By extending the season, we create room for more thoughtful, value-driven participation under healthier market conditions, while also giving time for participation to continue increasing and for more users to join Season 2.

Building a Fairer, More Transparent System

The shift from off-chain points to on-chain $CARROT was a major upgrade. It addressed Season 1’s dilution challenges, gave users direct ownership of their participation, and laid the groundwork for a more community-driven protocol via PufferDAOand gauge voting.

Transparency, however, takes time to realize its full potential. Emissions, integrations, and utility all unfold over time. Extending the season ensures this system rewards sustained contribution, not short-term spikes.

The 55:100 $CARROT claiming ratio is final and unchanged. The extension doesn’t dilute early contributors or alter the structure we’ve committed to since launch.

Looking Ahead

The extended Season 2 timeline sets the stage for what’s next: more integrations, expanded liquidity gauges, and DeFi strategies that enhance the utility of $CARROT. It also ramps up the lead-in to UniFi’s launch — our rollup and AVS are nearly ready, and this season gives the community a chance to align before they go live.

Extending Season 2 is about creating breathing room for everyone. From new users discovering the protocol to long-time participants waiting for the right time to act. In the face of ongoing market uncertainty, it’s a moment to prepare, participate, and build with intention.
